THE BRIEF:
Embed Longbranch in Australian culture by highlighting their lead creative director, Matthew McConaughey.
THE CHALLENGE:
Wild Turkey didn’t have a place in the creative communities of Australia, so we had to find an authentic role for the brand to play while ensuring Matthew McConaughey didn’t steal the limelight.
THE SOLUTION:
The Second Batch Film Festival
With film as our cultural inroad, we knew we had to do something for the community rather than asking for something from them.
So the Second Batch Film Festival was born, a place where existing short films that had never been awarded could get another chance at glory.
The festival garnered 93 entrants, a round of public voting and an expert panel of filmmakers. Finally, three films were crowned and received coaching, mentorship and prizes from McConaughey and the judges.
